After the course, you know about virtual meeting technology and will be able to work with a vendor to set up your own virtual meetings.

Section 2:  Keys to Effective Design of Virtual Meetings

Come learn how to make virtual meetings work for you and your organization. Explore the different learning formats for virtual meetings that are available. Learn how to design a virtual meeting that will work with your clients/members. Acquire the skills to train instructors on how to lead a virtual meeting. Take home the presentation techniques that best work with a virtual meeting. And be able to provide expert experience and perspective to those presenting and participating in your virtual meetings.  At the end of this course, you will have the keys to the effective design and instruction of virtual meetings. 

Section 3:  Managing Virtual Meetings

Discover the keys to success in planning, researching, budgeting, pricing, and marketing virtual meetings.
You’ll take home the most advanced, comprehensive practical how-to information on program planning and marketing available.  Find out the best timeline for planning and marketing webinars, how to do needs assessments and surveys that actually work, how to budget your costs, how to price your webinars, and the most effective ways to promote them. ChecklistWhat You do:

  1. In the online classroom, listen to audio lectures, view slides, even take an optional quiz to test yourself.
  2. Then post comments in the online discussion with your fellow participants and the instructor.  Your instructor logs on once a day to answer questions and join in on the discussion.
  3. You also get a text to read 20 pages a week.
  4. Participate any time of day or night. The ideal is to go online 2-3 times a week, but you decide.

About Your Instructors


William A. Draves,
CAE, COI, is President of the Learning Resources Network (LERN), the leading association in continuing education and lifelong learning.  He is the author of “Advanced Teaching Online,”  “How to Teach Adults,”  and editor of  “The Marketing Manual.”  He has organized and presented virtual meetings for five years, using audio and video delivery formats. A speaker and consultant, he trains association educators and others in the assessment, planning and marketing of continuing education events and meetings.  Draves is a Certified Online Instructor and received his graduate degree in adult education from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.


Suzanne Kart
is Director of Marketing for the Learning Resources Network, a national association in lifelong learning. Her previous work includes being Marketing Manager at Delta College in Saginaw, Michigan, Director of Marketing at United Way of Saginaw County, and Anchor/Reporter at KWLO/KFMW. She received her master’s degree in education from Michigan State University.

Her current work involves eMarketing, social networks, blogs, as well as traditional print and direct marketing.

Kart is a national expert on Generation X and generational communication, having written articles and contributed to two manuals on the subject. She does training and seminars throughout the United States and Canada on generational communication, eMarketing, marketing and social networks.
